A few tips and ideas for decorating your child's nursery or room!

Planning on decorating your new baby's nursery? Maybe you're looking to redecorate you toddler's room? Look no further! Here you can find some great tips for decorating you little one's room as well as a few of my favorite children's decor and furniture items!

One must have is a convertible crib. A convertible crib will grow with your baby, saving you money! You won’t need to purchase another bed for a couple of years and most convertible cribs can be converted into a twin or full-sized bed. These cribs also make easier transitions for toddlers because it's a furniture piece that they are already accustomed to, it just has a few changes.
 
When it comes to decorating walls, One thing I love is wall decals, wallpapers and wallstickers. Wallstickers are a trendy alternative to framed wall art and have become more popular in recent years. Using nails to hang pictures and art leaves holes in your walls. Most wall decals are removable so you don't have to worry about painting over anything or patching up  those holes that can be created by nails. You can find wallstickers in different shapes and sizes, some even featuring your child's favorite characters from books and films! 

I also like stackable book shelving. Larger, heavier furniture in most cases needs to be anchored and secured so that they don't fall over. Stackable shelving is usually light weight and easily movable for your convenience. They can be placed low to the ground and making your child's favorite books and toys easily accessible and at eye level. 

I personally prefer wall to wall carpeting but if you have hardwood, tile, or some other type of flooring and you decide to go with an area rug, make sure that it's secure to the ground to prevent accidents such as slips and falls. You can use double sided tape or rug grip which is sold in most hardware stores. The rubber-like texture of the rug grip will keep the area rug in your child's room in place.

On a budget? Instead of spending a fortune on a mobile, create a your own! You'll be able to find some great ideas and tutorials on websites like Pinterest and blogs. We never had a mobile for E but if I could go back and do it all again, I would creat something like this heart mobile.
