I'm excited to announce that I will be attending the 2nd Annual Brooklyn Baby Expo hosted by A Child Grows in Brooklyn. The expo is this Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the International School of Brooklyn (477 Court Street) in Carroll Gardens!

At the expo, Attendees can learn about and shop for everything from gear, clothing and furniture, to child care services and organic baby food. Hands-on activities include testing baby carriers, strollers and car seats, participating in demos, and learning how to make baby food!

Parents (and parents-to-be) can attend seminars about preparing for birth and post-natal care, navigating the new-parent world in Brooklyn, raising a good sleeper, best gear for baby and kids, best family tech resources and more.

Now that I'm using Shaklee 180, working out and trying to keep in shape, I decided I wanted to run (or walk/jog) a 5k. Never in a million years did I think I would ever have the desire to do a 5k but now that I'm trying to live a more active and healthier lifestyle, a 5k just seems right! 

I really wanted my first 5k to be something fun, something I could actually enjoy and that would be remembered for a lifetime. Our family recently went to see a performance of Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ. E loves Yo Gabba Gabba (or "go-go Gabba" as she calls it) and it's one of those children's shows that I don't mind watching with her. As a parent, I appreciate the messages the show promotes but most of all, I secretly enjoy the music and love that Yo Gabba Gabba has featured some of my favorite artists. It's definitely a guilty pleasure.

Kidzsignments is here! #NJ

Kidzsignments is one of New Jersey's largest consignment events. The sale features items for children and has a huge selection of gently used (and even some new) clothes, shoes, toys, games, baby gear and more! They have 2 sales a year, one in spring and the other in fall.  

This past April I attended the Kidzsignments' first time mom sale at the Edison location. This sale goes on before the general sale and is open to expecting mothers, parents in the process of adopting, and parents with a child up to 18 months of age. I discovered some amazing bargains which included a Bumbo seat with tray in excellent condition for just $10!
