Easy Tips For Using Shimmery Makeup Products

Shimmery make-up in the right amount and color can make your skin look healthier and give you a sun-kissed look like you just got back from the beach, and shimmer eyeshadow can make your eyes look more alert and wider. But add too much shimmer to your face, and it will simply look overdone and garish. The trick to using shimmer makeup is to find the right colors for your skin tone and use just the right amounts to avoid looking like a clown.
Powder Shimmer Or Cream Shimmer If your skin complexion runs normal to dry, you should be using a creamy shimmer in your beauty products. For those skin types that tend to be oilier, a powder shimmer is preferred. If you have normal to dry skin and would like to try a powder shimmer, make sure to apply a makeup base or primer before applying the product. For a high-impact look, a powder shimmer works best because they typically provide a more intense color. Choose The Right Shade If you are using a highlighter, you want a look that melts right into your skin and leaves just a hint of a glow behind. If your skin is lighter or more porcelain like, use silver or platinum shades in your beauty products. If your skin tone runs light to medium, choose a gold shimmer or pale rose color. For those with darker skin tones, bronze is always the best bet.
Always Test A New Product Never purchase a product by just looking at the packaging. Shimmery colors can be deceptive, and the way it feels on your skin is as important as the color. Products should spread easily and leave a gleam that is even and soft. If the product breaks into glittery chunks as you apply it, it’s best to choose a different product. Even the best makeup brushes won’t help with the application of these products. Testing beauty products before purchase also protects your skin from product allergies. Shimmer On Cheekbones If you are using your cream shimmer on top of your foundation, the best tool to use for application is your hand. Sponges will break up your foundation and take control of where you leave the shimmer. For powder shimmer users, a small brush is fine for application.

Shimmer on Eyelids
Try adding a highlighter right under the arches of your eyebrows to mimic a favorite tip of many professional makeup artists.  This tip makes your eyes look wider, but make sure you are using a shade that is natural.  Avoid using white shimmer, as it can look too obvious.  Shimmer that is beige or has a hint of gold is always a good bet.

Shimmer On Lips Application tips for lip shimmer are much more simple. Use a small lip brush to apply small amounts of shimmer on the cupid’s bow of your mouth. You can also apply shimmer to the middle of your bottom and upper lip to create a softer look. With the right shades and the right application style, adding shimmer products to your makeup bag can make your face appear healthier and make your best features pop out. Use shimmer in moderation to avoid a clownish look, and always make sure to start lighter and work up from there. Remember, you can always add more, but taking some off is a lengthy process of starting over.
